With the arrival of warmer weather
, it's time to start preparing your garden . If you're passionate about gardening, you know that the cold, wind, or even some animals have likely taken their toll on your precious natural space. But don't worry, in this post we'll give you the
guidelines for building your own homemade greenhouse to protect your plants. Let's get started!
How to build your own greenhouse?
Do you remember when you were little and played in the schoolyard with hula hoops? Well, you probably didn't know they were a great tool for creating your own greenhouse. That's right… It's just one of the things you'll need to achieve your goal:
- Four wooden boards.
- A hose.
- Eight metal bars.
- Hula Hoops.
- Curtain cloth or gardening mesh.
- Tools for household and garden use.
- And, of course, your precious plants.
What should you do about all this? While it might all sound a bit crazy now,
we'll briefly describe the steps you need to follow . You won't believe how easy it is!
- The first step is to use the profiles on two of the wooden boards , screwing them securely in place.
- Once the two boards have these profiles, you join them with the remaining ones to create a sort of rectangular box .
- Place the previous object in the garden where you intend to put it. Now it's time to use the metal rods . Hammer them into the enclosure, facing each other and close to the wooden boards. They should be distributed so that there is one in each corner and two on each side.
- After completing this step, fill the box with soil and fertilizer for your plants.
- You've reached the easiest part (or so we hope). Now it's time to choose the plants you want to grow and plant them inside!
- Say “hello” to Hula Hoops! Make a cut so that you can insert both sides of the conduit into the metal rods you nailed in step three.
- Cut enough curtain fabric or garden netting to cover the end hoops. Cable ties will help secure them . You'll also need to attach a top rod that will be in contact with all the hula hoops. This will act as a kind of backbone.
- Add more mesh to cover the entire surface of the greenhouse and attach it to one of the sides, leaving you with an opening.
- Use another counterweight bar to prevent our "door" from opening .
- It's time for the hose. Cut small pieces and open them up so you can use them to attach the mesh to the metal bars.
Now all you have to do is open the fabric whenever you want and enjoy your little greenhouse . See how easy it is? You'll be the envy of everyone and you'll show off your DIY skills!
